A new witness in the R. Kelly child pornography trial will be testifying that she had a three-way sexual encounter involving the R&B star and the alleged girl in the infamous sex tape.
According to The Chicago Sun-Times, prosecutors are also claiming to have identified the girl in the video who is now 20 years-old. While the defense says the alleged girl identified will deny any involvement in the tape, prosecutors hope the new witness may link the mystery girl to Kelly.
As previously reported by SOHH, this new witness information comes just weeks after an announcement that two new state witnesses were expected to bolster the prosecution’s case by corroborating claims about the identity of the alleged underage girl in the tape.
The 40-year-old R&B singer was indicted on child pornography charges in June 2002 for allegations he had videotaped himself having sex with an underage girl. Prosecutors have said the girl may have been as young as 13 when the tape was made.
The much-delayed court case is expected to begin May 9. Kelly faces up to 15 years if found guilty.
